A basket is a list of stocks and target percentages — not share counts. Type what you want to invest and sharecase turns those percentages into exact whole-share orders at your capital, not theirs.
No account. Nothing uploaded — only stock symbols go to this app's own /api/price. Not investment advice.
Drag the .json a friend sent you onto the page, or paste the text.
You immediately see how many stocks it holds and the minimum it needs.
Get share counts, total cost, and how far each holding lands from its target weight once rounded to whole shares.
Copy them into your broker by hand, or hand the whole basket to Zerodha Kite pre-filled — you review and confirm every order there.
| Stock | Shares | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| TCS | 31 | 24.7% |
| RELIANCE | 92 | 30.2% |
| HDFCBANK | 103 | 45.1% |
| Stock | Shares | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| TCS | 6 | 24.1% |
| RELIANCE | 18 | 29.7% |
| HDFCBANK | 21 | 46.2% |
Same file, same targets of 25 / 30 / 45% — and completely different share counts. That is the whole trick: percentages travel between people, share counts don't.
Notice the weights aren't identical either. Whole shares don't divide evenly, so the smaller amount drifts further from target — 1.2 points at ₹80,000 versus 0.3 at ₹4,00,000. The page shows you that drift rather than hiding it, and below this basket's minimum of ₹9,290 it stops you instead of quietly dropping TCS. (Illustrative prices.)
Live prices come from this app's own /api/price, and only stock symbols go to it — never quantities, amounts or files. Or skip it and use the sheet's prices, or type them from your broker app.
Below the minimum, the priciest stock can't get even one share. Rather than drop it and hand you a different portfolio, the page blocks and suggests amounts that work.
It does arithmetic. It doesn't know whether a basket is any good, and nothing is placed until you confirm it yourself in your own broker.
Drop a broker tradebook in for FIFO-matched realised P&L, an equity curve, basket concentration, and a “what if I never sold” counterfactual.
Optional, free, about five minutes. Lets the workbench hand a whole basket to Kite pre-filled instead of you typing each order.
